Toronto x Night

Reminds me of House of Cards.

Ryan Bolton.

I was finally able to get my paws on a Canon 5D Mark ii. Beyond pumped. Here are some of my first shots using it. Back out onto the streets shooting from Front and Bathurst area in Toronto. Lots of open exposure around 8-10 seconds. Cheers.

Featured Artist: Eero Lampinen

Love this!

featuredbannerHI!

Today’s feature is a really great illustrator I came across online! Eero Lampinen is an artist and graphic designer based in Finland. He uses a combination of his hand drawn illustrational skills with digital technology to create some really fascinating work.

LampinenFirst of all, the colours and textures he injects into his work are stunning. I am so inspired by the pale pinks and greens, combined with a dash of bright red. Like all of his work, there is a narrative happening here. I tend to turn to words to inject narrative into my own illustrations, but I love how open this piece is. It allows space for the imagination to roam. This is the first of Eero’s work that came accross, and it certainly grabbed my attention.

A lot of Eero’s work depicts children interacting with different types of environments. This work above seems to me, to be…

The Exterior Preparation Process

At Next Door Painting, we follow a step-by-step process for every exterior project in order to ensure that surfaces are properly prepared before the start of any painting job as well as to protect any of your valuables and areas of your home that are not being painted.

The Exterior Painting Process:

It all starts with the surface preparation. If the surface is not properly prepared, it will have a direct effect on the longevity of the paint application. At Next Door Painting, we take great pride in ensuring that the exterior of your home is properly prepared before there is any application of products. Here is a breakdown of how your surface area will be prepared and how the paint will be applied to your exterior.

1.Thoroughly power wash entire exterior surface

2. Seal all cracks in exterior stucco and wood

3. Repair any damaged masonry areas (Retexturing chipped comers, etc.

4. Thoroughly scrape loose and peeling paint from the exterior (Anything the power wash missed)

5. Cover all landscaping, bushes, windows and other non-painted areas

6. Prime any areas of bare wood

7. Spray the exterior house body (Usually stucco)

8. Brush the home’s trim (Facia boards, doors, door frames, etc.)

9. Roll the home’s trim (Facia boards, doors, door frames, etc.)

10. We will remove and replace any rotten wood

Five Preparation Processes of Next Door Painting

The Interior Preparation

At Next Door Painting, we follow a step-by-step process for every interior project in order to ensure that surfaces are properly prepared before the start of any painting job as well as to protect any of your valuables and areas of your home that are not being painted.

1. Property Protection

The painting process begins before anything is applied to the walls. All of the heavy room furniture is moved to the center of the room and covered with plastic drapes. The flooring is covered with paint-proof drop cloths. Other valuables are covered or moved out of the way.

2. Preparation Work

Major cracks and holes in ceilings, walls, and trim are filled. If necessary, caulk is applied. The walls are sanded with poll-sanders to remove scuffs and bumps. The repaired areas on the walls and ceilings are primed and stains are double-primed.

3. Painting

The ready-to-paint walls, ceilings, and trim are painted with high-quality paint to achieve an even paint finish.

4. Clean Up

Tool and equipment is removed. The floors and furniture are uncovered. Floors are swept and vacuumed. The furniture is placed back in its original position.

5. Inspection

Together with the homeowner, the finished job is inspected. You are invited to complete our feedback survey.

Who is Next Door Painting?

satisfaction_guarantee

“A Reputation Built on Quality and Integrity”

Next Door Painting is a premium painting contractor, and we have built a strong reputation for quality work and enduring results. We stand behind our work with a written warranty on all labor and materials.

Residential Painting Warranty

Our warranty at Next Door Painting, warrants labor and materials for a period of two years from the time of final payment. If paint failure appears, due to application or quality of materials, we will supply labor and materials, without customer cost, to correct the condition. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied.

We do not accept final payment on any job until the contract has been completely satisfied and all standards agreed have been achieved.

Our goal is complete customer satisfaction.

What does “Labor & Materials” mean?

Some warranties are misleading because they cover materials only. This means that in the case of a paint-failure claim, the contractor or manufacturer would only refund the cost of the paint itself. On a job where the total bill is in the thousands, the homeowner would only receive a few hundred dollars.

Next Door Painting’s written Warranty on Labor and Materials promises that we will provide you with the right product to repair any failed paint, AND we will personally repair the affected areas at no cost to you.
